‘Bel Ami’ starring Robert Pattinson in the lead role is the story of how a man sleeps with several women to climb the social ladder. The film is based on a novel penned by the famous author Guy De Maupassant. Initially penniless and modest clerk, Pattinson soon realizes that he has an undeniable and irresistible charm on the femme fatale. Uma Thurman, Christina Ricci and Kristin Scott Thomas greedily sleep with him. However, the conversations are a bit dull and lack that quintessential punch. Robert’s acting is staid and nothing to go gaga about. Uma, however, shines in her role and highlights the vast difference in acting skills between herself and the Twilight actor.
